Nate is a former USMC Sergeant turned nasty civilian and idiosyncratic inventor. He lives largely on nicotine, whiskey, and hate and can be frequently found orating Kipling poems to frightened hipsters. A renowned procrastinator and storied adventure protagonist, Murr is a graduate of the Camp Lejeune School for Wayward Boys. A combat veteran of multiple tours in Iraq and Africa, he was a Marine NCO, Infantry Platoon Sergeant and Scout Sniper team leader. Murr is a fully qualified American Jedi, self-described handsome badass and world-renowned field barista (true story - he's brewed great coffee on at least four continents). As anyone who has spent any time talking gear with him, Murr is something of an idiot savant when it comes finger-fucking stuff to make it work better. Nate only chain smokes when he's drinking, and only drinks every day. We reckon he is probably best described as a sociopathic philosopher with vestigial cutthroat (though poetic) tendencies. Thus far Murr's writing has appeared in such places as here on Breach-Bang-Clear, on Military.com, in field shitters and portajohns on at least 3 continents, in RECOIL Magazine and of course Penthouse letters. You can follow him and his company at @frontier_resolve on Instagram.
Some thoughts on the Victory First One day Pistol Workshop (if you want, use the convenient acronym: PWSHP)Photography by Mia Kiddo.Training is expensive. Missed days of work, gas, hotels, eating out while on site, and not to mention ammo. It’s a pain in the ass just...
Recently we had the opportunity to sit down and interview Sheila Dwyer of Strider Knives - yes Sheila, not Duane, and you're going to want to read about it. Mick Strider and Duane Dwyer formed the justifiably well-known knife company back in the 1990s, and to this day...
Burning down the aisles at BLADE Show 2014 here in Atlanta, we were in a rush to visit several of our custom knife making friends. Even though June's BLADE is a smaller industry show than SHOT, SOFIC, AUSA and the AVN Awards, it’s still hard to see everyone and...
After a particularly heinous winter endured by pretty much the whole country warm weather is finally upon us. With the summer looming and the days growing longer, I was finally able to try out my new britches - the Phantom Ops Airflow collab from Vertx and Fighter...

I’ve been using the two point Vickers sling from Blue Force Gear pretty much since it came out. Having deployed several times with it on my blaster, I've had to depend on it downrange I am a huge fan of the design. For years, the services issued a terrible black...
Photo by Natalie Cake Photography We love the AK-47 family of weapons. They are robust, reliable, and only require a 3rd grade education to operate (at best). We have witnessed the impressive durability and longevity of these weapons all over...
I wrote the title in all caps to get your attention. Add in a mental knife hand if you'd like. Early on in the Iraq and Afghanistan war, infantrymen and many specialized unit personnel started out with subpar illumination for fighting at night. Issued weapon...
