The “MILSPEC Folder Series” from Halfbreed Blades and Hardcore Hardware Australia are coming back. Why are we so eager to tell you about it? Because they’re MILF knives. You know damn well we’d be on a MILF (knife or otherwise) like a duck on a Junebug. The initial offerings will include four (4) unique blade geometries: one each of the Recurve, Drop Point, Tanto, and Wharncliffe profiles.

Those are the MILF-01 folding MILSPEC knife Recurve, the MILF-02 folding MILSPEC knife Drop Point, the MILF-03 folding MILSPEC knife Tanto Point, and MILF-04 folding MILSPEC knife Wharncliffe.

Oh, and know what else? They have another folder called the “Large Bush”. *snicker*

MILF-01 MILSPEC Folder Series

Hardcore Hardware Australia’s MILF-01 is a Recurve blade.

The MILF-01 is a mid-size RECURVE utility folding knife. In simplest terms, a recurve knife is one with one that has a Recurved blade, meaning one shaped somewhat like an S (the degree/extent will vary based upon the blade). This style of blade is particularly well-suited to outdoor work, i.e. lopping of small branches, cutting rope, disemboweling Hirabah Mufsidun when your pistol isn’t available, and other tasks where the advantages of a curved belly and a weight-forward knife come into play.

MILF in this case stands for “MIL(spec) F(olding knife)”.

The MILF-01 comes pre-set with a firm action, this can be adjusted for speed via the Torx head pivot point. The polished frame lock and mechanics are positive and crisp when opening and relocating home.

A 3D textured frame and G10 scale facilitate a sure grip in the hand and pocket. Handling is aided by non-slip jimping at key points both front and back. The handle also features a stainless frame lock and spacers.

Included with the MILF-01 is the added convenience of a robust stainless steel pocket clip that can be located in 1 of 4, left or right hand, tip up or tip down positions to suit your personal carry needs.

All MILSPEC Folder Series knives are supplied with a removable stainless steel thumb stud set. The thumb stud can locate on any of the three bevelled holes in the blade for individual customisation by the operator.

MILF-02 MILSPEC Folder Series

Hardcore Hardware Australia’s MILF-02 is a Drop Point blade.

The MILF-02 is a mid-sized DROP POINT workaday folding knife. A drop point knife is a style that sees the blade sloping from the handle/hilt of the knife down to (just the) tip. This design allows the spine to continue further forward on the blade, which is typically thicker at the tip than other blade profiles. It also generally leaves the point aligned with the center-longitudinal axis of the knife. That thick tip makes it a good choice for wood carving, gralloching critters after a successful hunt, and stabbing pedophiles who’re wearing protective clothing or even armor.

The removable thumb stud on the MILF on your left (we’ll touch on the stud part later) won’t matter much to many, but to a few, it will be a big deal. If you’ve ever had a folder where the thumb stud didn’t really match up with your ginormous troll-like dick-skinners (or maybe your itty bitty delicate ones), then you know what an advantage this sort of adjustability is.

MILF-03 MILSPEC Folder Series

The MILF-03 is a mid-sized TANTO point folding knife. Maybe more tactical than the previous two, but then tactical is as tactical does. A Tanto point knife has a flat grind, high point, and no belly. It’s a more clearly defined “triangular” ~ish blade. The Tanto blade makes this MILF version a little better suited for stabby work.

Hardcore Hardware Australia’s MILF-03 is a Tanto blade.

Because of its chisel-like tip and uncurved blade, it can not only take repeated impact on the front end, like if you were doing some fast and repetitive shiv work on a bony NBPP or AN member, but you can use it to pry stuff open too…like wooden crates of M18s, or that one asshole’s teeth when he has his jaws clenched shut.

WARNING: Owning and carrying a Tanto point knife makes you neither a samurai nor a trained knife-fighter. It either makes you one of the cognoscenti (if you chose it for a good reason) or a mall ninja. Choose carefully.

MILF-04 MILSPEC Folder Series

The MILF-04 is a mid-sized WHARNCLIFFE folding knife. A Wharncliffe knife is one where the blade is inverted. Most knives have a longer (usually straight) spine, with an edge that curves up toward the point. The Wharncliffe flips that around, so the blade edge is actually longer than the top (spine). It’s similar in look to the old Norse seax, which will be very informative if you’re one of those folks who know a lot about Viking stuff, but effectively useless if you know fuck-all about them.

Hardcore Hardware Australia’s MILF-04 is a Wharncliffe blade.

A Wharncliffe blade is particularly good for pulling cuts, precise cuts, and controlled application of that tip *snicker*. Cutting force is typically applied evenly along the whole length of the edge, which means not only can you slash well with it (you know, if that’s your thing), you can also use it for scraping/shaving. Of all the MILFs, this one is the best suited for use as a straight-up utility knife or for shaving beards off – especially, though by no means limited to, the henna-dyed face-tangles of assorted Salafist fucks in one of the ‘Stans. Or Syria. Or wherever such bestial, murderous fucks might hang out.

Halfbreed Blades LBF-01

Now, this isn’t a MILF, but since we mentioned it earlier we figured we ought to tell you more about it.

Now, as a reminder, this is not a review. We haven’t put hands on one yet, even though the Halfbreed Blades guys know how to get in touch with us and several of us have recently had birthdays.

LBF-01 Large Bush Folder

The LBF-01 is the folding cousin of their LBK-01, a fixed blade field utility knife. It is (well, according to HH it is) not “…just a pocket folder. Overbuilt in every detail and jam-packed with features, we’ve incorporated many popular functions and several innovations, essential for a workhorse cutting tool of this calibre.”

Remember, calibre=cailber. In addition to being the Texans of the former British Empire, Australia is a Commonwealth country. So, armour, manouevre, al-oooo-MINNY-yum, and all that.
