SHOT Show is a time to display new releases and this year Wiley X had three for us to check out, the Saber Advanced, the Ozone, and the Grid. Saber Advanced is your regular-looking single-lens military eye protection, Ozone is the new lens in the Climate Control series, and the Grid is a comfy set of glasses with over-molded rubber temples. Let us dive into them a bit more.
Wiley X Saber Advanced
The Wiley X Saber Advanced has a familiar military eye protection shape we are used to and now comes with a tan frame.
First, on the list of new glasses from Wiley X is the Saber Advanced with tan frame. The new military offering will be available with three different lens colors, including a pink lens if that’s your thing. Single-lens style glasses tend to be stronger as the entire lens and frame support each other plus they tend to offer more coverage. The black offering is $44 USD which is a great price for sure.
Wiley X Ozone
The Ozone has a gasket to help with fogging much like the Breach.
The Ozone is the newest in the Climate Control series (we previously talked about the Breach)and something I would have loved to use on days that were a bit foggy, back when I still had my motorcycle. Might even be useful out on the snowmobiles. The removable gasket helps with fogging and feels comfortable. We haven’t spent much time with any of the climate control glasses so we can’t say how it actually works outside of the show floor. Depending on the model the MSRP on these will be $120 to $200 dollars.
Wiley X Grid
The Wiley X Grid comes in a host of frame colors that includes an olive drab color they call Utility Green.
The Grid reminds me a bit of a slimmed-down version of the Nash, one of my favorites from Wiley X that I use when out on the water with the captivate lens. The rubberized temples and nose piece should help keep them in place. I know I mentioned it above but it comes in an Olive Drab color which is my downfall so I hope they fit my fat head. The price on these is also $120-200 depending on the options you want.
