Another look at Sicario 2 | Soldado has been released. We’re interested as much in how they portray events on the border as we are for the gunplay.
“Luck Doesn’t Live On This Side Of The Border”
A new trailer for the Day of the Soldado has been released. Starring Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin, the movie is a sequel to 2015’s Sicario, wherein an FBI agent played by Emily Blunt finds herself working alongside a CIA agent and a former Cartel assassin. Soldado has that same agent and assassin (Brolin and del Toro, respectively), fighting Narcos and terrorists in an escalation of the war on the United States-Mexico border.
Sicario was lauded by many for its realistic (by Hollywood standards) gun handling and fight scenes, something many action movie fans hopes will be true in the sequel as well…though the fast off-hand trigger pulling “bump fire” scene already has some people disgusted.
Our thoughts on that vary, but ultimately if you want realism, watch something like Hornet’s Nest or Setentia.
Take a watch.
Some obvious striking similarities to the first movie, but we’re liking what we’re seeing nonetheless.
The movie will be released in June. You can be sure we’ll talk more about it after we see it.
You can read up on some of the weaponry seen thus far in movie trailers on the IMFDB’s Sicario 2 page.
