I wear glasses all day long; I don’t use contacts, so I’m hypersensitive to hearing protection, hats, headbands, and anything that pushes my glasses arms into my head, causing me that awful range headache.

I know I’m not the only one who has experienced this. I’ve tried in-ear hearing protection, memory foam, and every option I could find. I love my Impact Sport but have at times felt I was going to die from the headaches they gave me.

NoiseFighters Sightlines

Sightlines Gel Ear Pads for the Impact Sports headset.

One day someone tagged me in a post about new gel ear pads that had a cut-a-way for the arm of your glasses. I immediately wanted to try them out, so I did. The second I put them on, I knew it was going to be different.

These are extremely easy to install. Pop the old pads out and slide the new gel pads in. You can see the groove for the arm of the glasses; the arm can now rest above the part that is pushing on your ear, no more squished glasses arms into your head.

Sightlines Gel Ear Pads – they’re gonna be good for your skull, promise.

I’ve put plenty of hours into these, including several classes at an indoor range and a 2-day armed vehicle defense class. I never once complained of a headache. The Sightlines by Noise Fighters do precisely what they promise to do, and that makes me happy.

Key Features:

  • Upgraded gel ear pads with relief cuts for glasses to pass through without breaking the noise seal and causing headaches from increased clamping pressure.
  • Features a rim to slide under the clips on headsets and a non-permanent, pressure-sensitive adhesive for a secure fit. And a peel + stick compatibility with snap-in plastic adapter plates to fit headsets from various manufacturers.
  • Best results with straight-style glasses arms, and the soft and flexible silicone gel produces an amazing seal with other types of glasses arms.
  • Grooved front face and 1/4″ inch of silicone gel provide significantly better softness and sealing vs. competitors’ pads.
  • When the headset is lowered as much as possible, glasses arms can be dropped into relief cuts and will sit in a protected channel just above the ear. The gel pads work like normal pads when glasses are not in use.
  • Use of premium acoustic memory foam and allowing for a closed head seal leads to impressively better sound deadening.
  •  Polyurethane outer skin is UV-resistant, waterproof, and much longer-lasting than vinyl used on cheap pads.

This gel ear pad model is fully compatible with many Howard Leight®, Peltor™, and Ops-Core™ headsets without any adapter plates. For a full list,  check out Noisefighters.

Here’s the takeaway.

1. Comfortable.

2. No more pressure point headaches.

Hey, Breach Bang Clear people. Um, so. I wear the, uh, Howard Leight Impact Sport hearing protection like a ton of you guys do. And I’m sure you all kinda get the, um, same annoying headache from it pushing on your glasses. And, um, drives me nuts. And I came across, uh, this product, um, from NoiseFighters.

This is a one-man operation business. This guy is a retired marine. And he developed these, uh, gel cushion ear pads, um, but this version is called Sightlines, and it has a cutaway for your glasses. And it’s supposed to eliminate that annoying headache you get. So, I’m anxious to open this up and install them on these and let you guys know what I think.

1:07

Okay, so right on the package is the install instruction, so always read the instructions before you dig into it, even though it’s pretty straightforward. Pretty simple. ‘Kay, that looks like it’s in place pretty good. Take these off. So just like, they said, these are super easy to install.

2:00

Um, so let’s check them out. Haha yeah, I can tell a difference already. That’s great. Huh. Yeah, big difference. I like ‘em. Now I just gotta put some hours on with them. Stay tuned, I’ll get some hours on these, and I’ll give you a report on how they hold up but, uh, right away. First, uh, first reaction is yeah, dig ‘em. They’re doin’ what they say they’re gonna do. You don’t feel that pinch right there. I like it.

I also want to mention, this business is a Michigan-based one-person show created by Neal Brace, a former Marine. His gel ear pads are 100% manufactured in the United States.

They have the Howard Leight Impact Sport Sightlines in stock, ready to ship, and many other brands of hearing protection as well. Let them know Sara from Breach Bang Clear sent ya. Be sure to tag us in pics of you wearing them; we want to “hear” what you think!
