MAGVIEW, a Lake Oswego-based manufacturer of high-end digiscoping accessories, has announced the launch of their MagView S1 and S1 Mini SYNC smartphone digiscoping adapters for spotting scopes. Here’s what we know about their new spotting scope phone mount options.

According to MAGVIEW, the new SYNC models feature a self-aligning plate design that uses rare earth magnets to effortlessly and precisely align your smartphone camera with a spotting scope. The company states that their S1 and S1 Mini digiscoping adapters have long been popular with hunters, birders, and nature viewers. MAGVIEW believes the introduction of the new SYNC plate makes what they call “the most versatile and convenient digiscoping adaptors on the market” even easier to use.

MAGVIEW says that after the initial installation, users can simply attach their smartphone to their spotting scope and get to snapping cool pictures right fucking now immediately start capturing high-quality images. The SYNC plate, according to the company, automatically aligns the smartphone camera with the optic while maintaining a sleek and low-profile design. MAGVIEW also notes that when not actively digiscoping, the S1 & S1 Mini serve as a protective lens cover, guarding against dust and precipitation. They also claim the SYNC plate is backward compatible with existing S1 & S1 Mini adapters.

In the obligatory marketing statement from a higher-up almost always found in a press release, Brian Motland, CEO at MAGVIEW, expressed his excitement about introducing this new technology to the digiscoping community. He advised that their goal has always been to make digiscoping accessible and enjoyable for everyone and that the self-aligning feature of the new S1 and S1 Mini SYNC adapters will significantly improve the user experience, allowing users to capture more of the moments they value.

But anyway. The potential uses for this are manifold. One thing we’re looking forward to is filming some training iterations, similar to what we did with the Carson Hookupz.
