“Bolt” is a name that many of us know from the Pat Rogers days due to F3 Tactical and Jimmy Hat. All three have had a large impact on the firearms industry. Since 2012 Jimmy Hat has been giving us good product options and supporting companies from his storefront F3 Tactical in Chantilly, VA.
On October 26th, 2021 Bolt sadly passed away due to an aggressive cancer that took the family by surprise.
“Friends, this will be the hardest thing we have ever had to share with you.
Our beloved baby boy, Bolt, has crossed over the rainbow bridge. He had an aggressive cancer that took all of us by surprise, and unfortunately, we were left with very little time to make the hardest of decisions for our family, and for Bolt.
Bolt was tough as nails all the way till the end, even the Veterinarian staff remarked on his stability and strength in the face of such a horrible diagnosis. I wanted to tell them how he feared nothing in this world (except getting his nails trimmed,) and that he regarded garbage trucks as mere chew toys. Bolt started his life in a hard place and fortunately an amazing organization, A Forever Home Rescue Foundation , found him and delivered him to our family as a rescue dog. He had some built-in survival instincts that never went away, and those characteristics made him one of the most loyal, protective, and loving animals I have ever known.
Bolt loved his people, and his eyes always told us so.
For all of you who have shared your love for Bolt over the years, we offer you our sincerest gratitude for your kindness and support. For almost a decade, Bolt enjoyed visitors from all over the country, and even the world. He never lived a day that wasn’t filled with love, and lots of scratchers from our wonderful community. Thank you, all of you.
We love you baby boy, you were an absolute one of a kind. There will never be another like you, and the void in our hearts simply will not ever be filled, until we meet again.”

Shifting Gears
Since then, Jimmy and his family have made some large life changes. The family has now started fostering dogs and finding them a “furever home,” working to keep Bolt’s legacy alive and help those that cannot help themselves. Due to this and other life adjustments, they announced the closing of their storefront on August 17, 2022, and the opening of an online retailer F3tac.com
F3 Tactical released this statement, “Shifting gears.
Friends, after more than a decade, F3 Tactical will be shifting our retail storefront to online sales and contract work. F3 isn’t going away, we’re just making changes to our business model to fit the current, economic environment. The storefront will close on Friday, August 26th and our web site ( www.f3tac.com ) will remain up and running. The web site is a lot of work-in-progress, so we ask for your patience with that 😊
Our F3 Social media presence will continue, as we will use it to benefit the online sales piece of our future. We will also continue to host and inform our friends in this community about local training events since there are so many good opportunities in this area. Our dog rescue mission will remain intact, and we look forward to sharing our future foster pups with all of you here. You are a big part of that rescue mission, and we are honored to continue that work with all of you by our side.
For Chief and I, and the rest of our family, these last ten years have been some of the best of our lives. We’ve been blessed with the most wonderful customers and industry partners anyone could ever ask for, and with so many of you becoming our dearest of friends. Of course, there was the immense joy we had of sharing Bolt with all of you for nine of those years. That was a very special part of our time with you, and we will cherish those memories forever.
God bless you folks, it has been quite an adventure here at the shop, and we are so grateful to all who have shared it with us. We hope to maintain a service to you in the online realm and we will definitely see you out on the range!
#GoodJobBolt”
Jimmy, we will support you and your family and continue Bolt’s legacy as best we can. We also thank you for putting your time and care into these dogs that need it the most. Thank you for allowing us into your family and for allowing us to continue to support you with this online website.
Support those who support you.
