Daniel Defense Releases DDM4V7S Seriously Bitchin Rifle

Richard “Swingin’ Dick” Kilgore and Jake “Slim” Call

JTF Awesome member Daniel Defense has released a new rifle — the DDM4V7S. This is a smaller, SBR (Seriously Bitchin’ Rifle) version of their DDM4V7 (which is, of course, also pretty badass). The new SBR is made in the USA and uses an M-LOK DD MRF XS 10.0 rail (because everyone loves acronyms) built around a cold hammer forged 11.5 in. barrel. Note that this makes it an NFA item, because, you know, short barreled rifles are known to overthrow governments and slaughter people indiscriminately.

It’s a carbine-length gas system they say will provide smooth, reliable cycling under harsh conditions. It will also reduce felt recoil. Yes, we know an M4 or AR15 doesn’t exactly slam the shoulder like a .620 Nitro Express, but let’s face it — lots of smaller framed shooters, or those with physical limitations, will benefit from any recoil mitigation. And so will you, no matter how strident your Beardy McTactical Facebook declamations are.

Let’s see, what else? Well, here’s how Daniel Defense describes it:

“A free-floating MFR XS 10.0 rail offers incredible weight savings as well as superior cooling, ergonomics, and modularity while maintaining the strength and durability expected from Daniel Defense. With the M-LOK attachment points that run along 7 positions and an uninterrupted 1913 Picatinny rail on top, the V7S has plenty of room for sights, optics, and accessories the user may require. Pairing an 11.5” barrel and the MFR XS 10.0 rail also ensures compatibility with a wide variety of muzzle devices and sound suppressors for even more rifle customization. This platform comes standard equipped with our rugged and extremely comfortable Daniel Defense Buttstock and Pistol Grip.”

The DDM4V7S is one of two SBRs DD is releasing this year. In this picture taken from SHOT you can see the V7S up top, and the V4S below. The V4S features a 10 in. rail with 11.5 in. barrel.

The DD Rifle Manual is online right here if you want to see more about what they offer; the M4V7S is online here. You might also check out either the Book of the AR15 Daniel Defense Edition or the AR15 Daniel Defense Edition Sniper Adventure Challenge book, both of which are on shelves now (or can be ordered via the links we so thoughtfully provided).

You will note those are the 2016 editions because, frankly, 2017 isn’t over yet.

Oh, and as you can see, we put another book suggestion in there as well (Letters from Elmer Keith). Why? Because fighting men warrior princesses people with a warrior ethos should know their history when it comes to rifle fighting. If you’re not willing to put some time in honing both mind and skill, fuck it, why use a Daniel Defense rifle at all? You can get a Hi-Point 995TS for about $300 and spend the rest of your time binge-watching The View.

Sign up for the DD newsletter to keep abreast (*snicker*) of updates here. Find them on the Book of Face right here, on Instagram @danieldefense. You can subscribe to ’em on YouTube too. We don’t know if they’re on Twitter, we don’t have the attention span for that, nor do we know if they’re on Pinterest (because we’re not herbivores we’ve never looked there).

Now get off your ass and go to the range, fatty.

We’re the Mad Duo. We fight evil so you don’t have to.
