Jeremiah Ridgeway, a Cav Scout with 3-71 Cavalry (Tenth Mountain) was an amateur photographer without formal training in 2007. While deployed to Afghanistan he took thousands of pictures. Eight thousand of them made it home. He destroyed three cameras in the process. Now in college at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Ridgweay had one of his images published in National Geographic in 2008.
