88 Tactical Instructor Focus | Phil Chaney
Jake Call
88 Tactical has done a pretty damn good job of collecting the who’s who of the training world. One of those people is their Eastern Region Director Phil Chaney. He serves as an instructor and director for several police and SWAT related courses. Here’s what 88 Tactical has to say about him:
Phil’s combat decorations earned during several deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia include Bronze Star w/ “Valor” device (OEF), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/ “Valor” device (OIF), Meritorious Service Medal (OIF), and Navy /Marine Corps commendation Medal. He is a retired Marine Chief Warrant Officer 3 with over 25 years of specialized training and instruction. Phil has been instrumental in the development and instruction of the new State Basic and Advanced SWAT Schools as well as the Single Officer Response to Active Threats (SORAT) curriculum development.
The experience, knowledge, and credentials that Chaney adds to 88 Tactical’s team of Senior Instructors is proof of our commitment to providing our students with the best instruction in the industry.
Find 88 Tactical on the Book of Face right here, on Instagram @88tactical. You can subscribe to ’em on Vimeo too. We don’t know if they’re on Twitter, we don’t have the attention span for that, nor do we know if they’re on Pinterest (we haven’t looked there because we eat meat and have testicles). Now get off your ass and go to the range, fatty.
We’re the Mad Duo. We fight evil so you don’t have to.

Phil is a great instructor, amazing warrior, and puts his heart into every class with that great combination of humility and confidence that few possess. One of the greats.
I’ve trained and deployed with Phil since 1997. He is one of the best in the business.
