Military helmets have gone through dozens of changes over the years in every country. Each has distinct features to the time and place they were worn, and some even had brims integrated into the helmet itself. This addition seems like a smart choice on the surface. However, few (if any) units use those models anymore. Almost all modern helmets have a completely smoothed-over, rounded design. This design offers no sun protection, which can lead to layering baseball caps or other solutions, few of which are much of a solution at all. It’s even worse when rain or snow decide to be their worst–it only makes working out in the field harder when there’s nothing to keep your line of sight clear. And that’s why we like the idea of a tactical helmet visor.
Nutsof has created the perfect solution: a removable helmet brim that easily attaches to the top of most modern helmets. It’s perfect to protect the wearer from the elements without changing the fit of their helmet. It’s made of laser-cut laminate and Tegris, a rigid material made of polypropylene tape that’s been woven into fabric. It makes a strong and durable yet flexible surface, which is perfect for a hat brim that will definitely be under stress out in the field. It even comes in four colors: Multicam, Ranger Green, Coyote, and Wolf Gray. Its laminate surface even allows the user to add any kind of camouflage that may be needed. It weighs barely over an ounce, so there’s no way that this ballistic helmet visor will weigh a helmet down or be noticed at all. It attaches using an adjustable elastic cord that wraps around the helmet shroud or night vision mount; it’s perfectly simple. So, when your tinted eye protection just isn’t doing the trick, or you need extra protection from the elements, the Brim from Nutsof is a great solution.Additional reading:
