Ever had that knife you just loved, but it broke? The knife that saw you through more than a few adventures, helped you out of a jam or six, was just always there for on great fishing or hunting trips. I did, and after years of the parts just sitting in a box, I had this Benchmade 970SBT (the Benchmade version of the CQC7) rebuilt like the $6 Million Dollar Man….made it faster, stronger and better. Rebuilt by veteran knife pimper Nathawut Petchkong (aka Nath), my old blade was fitted with a custom Emerson style handle, including a full Ti backspacer. It once again finds its way into my pocket most days, on duty or off.
Here is a quick tabletop review of one of my favorite blades.

While it’s not always easy to find knives like this now, it’s not impossible. There are lots of Benchmade knives on Amazon, at Brownells, and at KnifeArt.com. There are many Emersons on KnifeArt.com and Amazon as well.
More to the point, there are several 970SBTs on eBay too!
