Manufacturing out of Bozeman, Montana, Mystery Ranch is a powerhouse of pack design and always has new things to show at SHOT either from their civilian line or their military one. This year is no exception with a total of four new military packs that fit the assault bag role. All of the new bags are available in a host of colors as long as the hote you are looking for is Multicam or Coyote Brown.
Blackjack LT 35
The Blackjack series of bags has been immensely popular in the military and up to now included a 100L, 80L, and a 50L. The new Blackjack LT 35 is 15 litres smaller than the 50L but comes in at half the weight (3.76lbs). Designed for 24-48 hour missions the bag is festooned with laser-cut PALS webbing for additional pouches or tie-down locations. If you are familiar with the Blackjack 50 the pocket layout is essentially the same on the bag. One change between the two is that the LT 35 uses a stowable Live Wing hip belt (like the 3 Day Assault Pack) compared to the more rigid offering on the 50.
Raid LT 32
The RAID LT is the new assault pack that comes in at 3.27 lbs and has a more traditional assault pack shape with a tapered top compared to the more ruck-like silhouette of the Blackjack. It is designed for the same amount of sustainment gear for a 24-48 hour mission. This bag also includes a Live Wing belt and laser-cut PALS webbing on the exterior. Bags can be very task or person-specific so having options is always nice.
Gunfighter 14 and 24L
The new Gunfighter packs from Mystery Ranch come in two sizes and look like a 12-24hr bag size or around the town if you don’t care about camo bags. Both bags have a rip-open style top similar to their IFAK. These look like nice minimal bags.
