Arex Defense of Slovenia has made inroads in the handgun market over the last several years. That began with the introduction of the Arex Zero, a clone of the Sig 220 series of 9mm pistols. That was followed up with the Arex Delta, a striker-action mix between Glock and Steyr. The new Arex Delta Gen. 2 comes in three different sizes and features improved stippling as well forward and rearward cocking serrations More importantly, the Gen. 2 comes with ambidextrous controls and optics-ready capability. Here is our four hundred round review:

The Arex Delta for review here is the M model. M for midsized. It is roughly the same size as a Glock 19 and has a fifteen round magazine capacity. Aside from its lower price point, the positive features of the Arex Delta Gen. 2 is a high grip purchase and a flat recoil reducing backstrap. The striker-fired action uses a longer than usual trigger stroke for added safety while shooting and rebolstering.
Overall reliability is good with the only failures being a few light strikes on Magtech Steel Cased 115 grain FMJ target loads. The Arex Delta makes the mark for reliability and accuracy, but the shallow ambidextrous magazine release could stand to be prouder for an easier release for left-handed shooters. The Arex Delta Gen. 2, overall, is an improvement off the original and hits an ergonomic sweet spot, but there is still some improvement to be made.
