Warfighting: Operation Serval

It would be our first inclination to make fun of French soldiers, but in fairness that would be doing some brave men a disservice. We console ourselves by assuming the guys doing the fighting in Mali probably have American, British and/or Canadian blood in their veins from some of the guys who were over there saving their ass during both World Wars. In all seriousness we wish them luck. Though they’re unlikely to ever truly clean up the Maghreb, hopefully they can kill the assholes that need killng and go home safely.

According to the captions, the footage shows troops from the GTIA3, or 3rd Joint Tactical Group, though we don’t spikka da French so we’re not sure. Here’s the order of battle if you’re interested: http://www.armyrecognition.com/serval_opertaion_mali_french_army/index.php
