If you’re going to change the world, you first gotta change yourself. It doesn’t matter if you want to be more productive at work, to become a successful entrepreneur, achieve political office or go from Adam West Batman to Alex Ross Batman. It starts from WITHIN. Here’s some words to that end from a website called, interestingly (and NSFW-ingly) GoodFuckingAdvice.com.
“Before you decide to be better, you have to actually believe you can become better. It’s not just bullshit from a high school self-esteem assembly, there’s some fucking science behind this.”
One of the few things you can control is your attitude (it may be labor intensive but it can be done). You have to set realistic goals, you have to be willing to adjust fire at need and “roll with the punches”, and you have to realize you’re probably capable of more ambitious accomplishments than you give yourself credit for – as long as you own it, and determine your inner mettle is the right alloy with which to build success.

“…it’s not surprising that while people have varying degree of talents and aptitudes, the people with a fixed mind-set frequently miss out on opportunities for personal growth and development, while those with a growth mind-set find themselves constantly improving and growing…we have to remember that we are responsible for our attitude about ourselves and the way in which we set our goals. These things must come from inside of you, they’re not something someone else can give to you. You have to believe in your fucking self.”
You may need to start with something small. As we were reminded recently by Paladin’s HMFIC, Yancey Harrington (The Most Interesting Man in Arizona),
“If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed.” Adm. William H. McRaven, USSOCOM, Commencement Address to the University of Texas 17 May 14
