Whitetail Hunter Compounds – New Crossbow Series from Barnett

Whitetail Hunter Compounds

A New Crossbow Series from Barnett
Ashley Bunch, Breach-Bang-Clear News Team

Comfortable, lightweight, and sturdy? Does this sound like the type of crossbow you’d want to shoot? I’d hope so. I’ve been forced to work too many times with too much substandard equipment – that was neither of those things – to pass on the choice of something with all those features.

Luckily for all of us, we can have it all (at least according to Barnett). They’ve announced the release of their upgraded Whitetail Hunter Series of compound crossbows. This series includes the Whitetail Hunter ProWhitetail Hunter II and Lady Whitetail Hunter.

Barnett says they feature fast-handling lightweight stocks, custom composite laminated limbs and compact overall dimensions, all at what Barnett describes as an affordable price.

And yeah, it was designed and built in the good ol’ US of A!

Of course, what kind of company would they be if they didn’t also release a new series without some all-new features?

That’s a rhetorical question; please refrain from answering.

Instead, look at this list and tell us you’re not ready to test this bad boy out immediately (Yes, we admit it, we like crossbows, and not just for shooting old men in the privy – don’t judge us.)

• TriggerTech trigger
• Frictionless Release Technology
• Nock sensors
• Anti-dry fire (ADF)

And Barnett isn’t quite done there; while those features may offer a smooth, crisp, safe, unique, confidence boosting, accuracy enhancement, zero creep three-pound trigger pull (that’s how their press release describes it), they have a few more performance features shared among the group.

These are:

• Barnett’s self-adjusting Soft-Lok Floating Bristle Arrow Retainer
• Anti-vibration foot stirrup
• 7/8 in. Picatinny rail
• 4×32 mm multi-reticle scope.

Don’t know what any of that means? Don’t worry, Barnett has provided a pretty good tutorial here.

If that’s not enough to get you drooling and shooting at drunken knights, each of the models comes “ready to hunt” with Headhunter arrows, quiver and lubrication wax. All you have to do is take it out of the box, install a single bolt and you’re ready to go.

Barnett says these are fit for the most novice crossbow hunter to the most elite crossbow champion. Let’s break down the specs.
