I bought an MPA 570 SST pistol not too long ago after Slim and I had a "run-in" with some urbanites one night in Hotlanta on a ridealong with an ex-SWAT buddy. Those fine gentlemen graced us with the business end of an older MAC version of an MPA pistol. All I could think as Slim and I were dashing...Read more: MasterPiece Arms Side Folder - We Love Swingers

Here is our latest installment of Fight Like a Girl. This one is an AAR written after a training evolution by our resident Warrior Princess, Ellen Pucciarelli. We publish articles by females we respect because they have a unique perspective and because it needs to be done. They can offer a different outlook on things, from their psychology of training to why certain slings don't interract well with bosoms. We have other reasons, but ultimately we think 'Fight Like A Girl' is a recurring series that needs to be done. Oh, and yes it might seem a disconsonant (grunts:look it up) that we run an irreverent look at a hawt tattooed girl or scantily clad redhead one day, then a serious article by a female the next. To this we respond as we always do; boobs and tactics and gunfighting skills are by no means mutually exclusive. You'll note that all the girls we've featured in Fight Like a Girl are hawt and worthy of respect...that's not an accident. A good looking girl is about eleventeen times hotter if she's smart and tactically proficient, and Ellen isn't just smokin' hawt, she is damn dangerous.
Which brings us to Ellen's look at the EAG Basic Carbine class taught by Pat Rogers.
Pat Rogers: Basic Carbine
The sound of Pat Rogers’ old school New York accent telling me to “stay in the fight” is still echoing through my head days after I completed his Basic Carbine class. And I hope that voice never goes away – ‘staying in the fight’ was one of my biggest lessons in this class, something I was somewhat dismayed to realize that I wasn’t always doing.
The class was held at Echo Valley Training Center in West Virginia during the first weekend of May. Perfect weather and a great location with about 18 students; a mix of law enforcement and responsibly armed citizens. My weapon of choice for this class was a Knight’s Armament SR-15E3 IWS Carbine SBR (14.5" barrel) with a perm attached Battlecomp 1.5, a Magpul MS3 sling, and Aimpoint T-1 (2MOA dot.)
One of the cool things I quickly learned about training with Pat is that he has a ton of gear that he brings with him that he’s willing to loan out to students. As a person who is always struggling to find the right gear, this was great for me. I prefer to keep things as simple as possible when it comes gear, so my original plan was to use a single RCS mag holder on an Ares Ranger belt coupled with one of the new Costa leg rigs that I would use to feed the mag holder. I did a few drills with this set-up and realized that it wasn’t working as smoothly as I’d like it to; ultimately, the leg rig weighed my belt down, defeating my intended purpose and comfort with it for this class....Read more: Fight Like a Girl: Ellen P talks Pat Rogers Basic Carbine
As you no doubt recall, we are casting a TGToT (Tactical Game of Thrones). Our bad ass series of feature length movies will most certainly be epic, mostly because all of the principal characters will be played by people from the tactical industry...remember, one of the big boys from Tactical...Read more: Tactical Game of Thrones: Warrior Women & a Real Bad Ass
You know they are making a movie about him...they better not screw it up. Meantime, take a few minutes to listen to Mrs. Kyle.
